Deep pressure vs. Deep tissue | BBmassageandfloat.com

I hadn’t had any previous experience working with a massage therapist in American Fork, so when I first started then I suddenly had to quite my learning curve! There was a lot of things I had to learn about different float spa and massage therapies, and answer the clients who inquired about them while booking appointments. Many people aren’t aware of the fact that deep tissue massage and deep pressure massage, both are two different things. Yes, they are and I know that I had a very vague idea of this difference myself.

It’s probably one of the biggest myths about massage therapy today.

Deep Tissue massage is actually its own modality of therapeutic massage American Fork and is used as a treatment for some specific issues, which cause limit range of motion or chronic pain. Deep Tissue massage therapy is not sustained for the full massage, but to focuses on one or two muscles or muscles groups to retrain the muscles at the root of the issue. Deep Tissue massage therapy is good for holding patterns such as frozen shoulder syndrome and breaking up scar tissue. Massage Therapists may use heat and striping with forearms and elbows, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, compression, friction and traction.

Deep pressure is exactly what it sounds like: it is a type of massage therapy which is performed with deep pressure. There are many massage techniques that could be more effective if pressure, such as sports therapy for a sports person, is greater but there are others that require hardly any pressure at all such as John Barnes Myofascial Technique or Craniosacral Therapy.

If you need the enough effect of pressure at a certain point then It is very important to ALWAYS tell it clearly to your massage therapist. Massage therapists are expert in listening what your body speaks they can easily analyse the amount of pressure that works for you. This is called Muscle Guarding if muscles push back when the pressure is too intense. At the same time, it gives you a signal that you may face injury to the tissue if you continue pushing the muscle.
Some days you may feel you could stand a little more pressure, while on the other days you may feel you need a lighter tough. Reason is because everyone’s body responds differently to body work.
Our main motive is to provide you the best therapeutic massage American Fork to address the issues in various different ways. Keeping an open line of communication throughout your session can be very beneficial and can ensure that you are receiving the therapy that works best for you.
